District Nurses The District Nurses provide nursing care to patients and families in their own home. Some of the services include support, rehabilitation, information about community care, health education, continence advice and advice on benefits. They work in close liaison with the practice and can be contacted directly.

The Health Visiting team provide practical support and advice to families with children aged 0-18.
Health visitors are qualified nurses with specialist training in child health, health promotion and education. They work closely with GP's and other agencies to promote the health of the whole community.
They visit families in a variety of settings including the home, and hold community health clinics in Bampton Surgery and Carterton Health Centre. They can be contacted at Bampton Surgery
Community Midwife
The community midwife works with the doctors, sharing ante-natal care and particularly the care of mothers and new babies. The midwife clinic takes place weekly in both Bampton Surgery and Carterton health Centre. Newly expectant mums should make an appointment to see their doctor before arranging an appointment with the midwife.
In addition to the weekly clinics held in the surgeries there is a drop-in clinic in Witney Hospital, Monday to Friday 1-4pm (Telephone: 01993 708742)
Witney Community Hospital
This is used for convalescence, respite care and rehabilitation. There is also a day hospital unit with access to physiotherapy and occupational health.
