Doctors Appointments
As a result of patient feed back and the Doctor's surgery workload, appointments with the doctor will be available as a bookable in advance on both the morning clinics and the afternoon clinics. This will allow patients to forward plan their appointment with the doctor. Patients can request an appointment with the doctor in advance rather than having to speak to the doctor first before being offered this appointment.
The GP's will still deal with phone calls from patients who wish to be seen on the day via the triage system, this will allow the doctor to manage patients in the most appropriate way. This may mean that the doctor will be able to deal with your concern over the telephone, or indeed it may be that you need to some blood tests before seeing the doctor or may need a longer appointment time than the usual 10 minutes. When you telephone the surgery for a doctor's appointment on that day you will be placed their list for a call back. The doctor will then have a brief discussion with you about your reason for needing an appointment and agree with you the best plan of action. If required the doctor will then book you an appointment, on that day depending on need.
Patients will be offered the next available appointment with their ‘usual doctor’ where possible. If you do not know who your ‘usual doctor’ is please ask the receptionist when you next contact the surgery. She will be happy to tell you the name of your ‘usual doctor’ or, if you do not as yet have a named doctor, she will in most cases be able to arrange for you to be allocated to the doctor of your choice.
Whilst you are free to see whichever doctor you would like we strongly recommend that you try to consult the same doctor each time you visit the surgery. Seeing the same doctor improves the continuity of care and should reduce the number of times you will need to visit the doctor
Online Appointment Booking
You will still be able to book a nurse appointment online and will also be able to book a doctor telephone triage appointment online. The doctor telephone triage appointments will be available to book online the day before. We hope this will still allow patients the opportunity to book their telephone call in advance at a time which is convenient for them to receive a call and to book this when the surgery is closed.

Patients are free to see the doctor of their choice but it is advisable to try and see the same doctor. Particularly, when it concerns an ongoing problem, to ensure that you receive the best possible continuity of care.
Appointments are booked at 10 minutes intervals and the doctors endeavour not to keep patients waiting, however, sometimes, there are unavoidable reasons which may cause delay.
We also offer a telephone consultation facility and will be pleased to make an appointment for you to speak to a doctor, who will ring you back as close to the appointed time as possible.
